Community Worker Programmes are area-based programmes where participants are provided with a minimum number of days of regular work (typically two days in a week) in a defined location or designated site.

The Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) contracted Insika Foundation to implement CWP in close partnership with various Municipalities and Wards at the local level. Sites are managed by a Site Manager and different programmes are implemented at each site. Site Managers are responsible for accurate and timely reporting on all matters related to CWP implementation, safety compliance, operational management and staff management of CWP site personnel (Site Coordinator, Site Administrator, Health and Safety Representative, Storekeeper etc).
